Gerry Scheub throws out Paulers from Lake County Gun Show

The Lake County Gun Show was this weekend, and a group of Ron Paulers bought space at the show to campaign for Ron Paul. Along comes Gerry Scheub, and he kicked the Paulers out of the show.

Scheub claimed that the organizer of the show should not have let a political organization like the Paulers in. In fact, there is no ordinance in Lake County preventing political organizations from that venue, and the contract that the organizer had with the county only prevented soliciting, not campaigning.

As usual, Gerry Scheub is acting like a fascist. He doesn't even understand the basics of free speech (a county owned venue is EXACTLY the kind of place that the founders envisioned us executing our free speech rights, particularly political ones.

I don't think that old, white Gerry Scheub has any idea who he took on with the Paulers. Let's see if we can pack the next Lake County Commissioner meeting and let this jackass know how bad he really did.

Ok, next meeting the 1st, this Wednesday, at 10 ayem. My quasi-day off. I'm sure Ferg can provide all the Paulers you'll ever need. I'm dying for entertainment that I can afford on my meager budget (I make even less than poor little Shelli Vandenbalkenbocker, who can't afford fines for leaving Assembly, unlike Rich Republicans). I'm even up for a little audience participation, ala Rocky Horror or Tony & Tina's Wedding. I'll be easy to spot. I'm the guy who looks like me.

I understand Richard Mourdock's group had a booth and also Rick Neimeyer had a booth there. Both were allowed to remain. I think Scheub was the guy protected under the new redistricting for county council/commissionor. This is what happens when politicians and political parties remain unchecked.
Did the Ron Paulers get there money back?

It may also have had something to do with the Paul supporters harassing other campaign volunteers and making racial slurs regarding people of the Jewish faith.

Truegrit, do you know this first hand or is this a rumor or is this just a guess?

The incident was reported to me directly. But, since it occurred outside the venue the Paul supporters in question may already have been discharged.

I dont think the Paulers are a type of group that intimidate others. Most of the Paulers I know are borderline Libertarians, it is against their principles to act in such way. On the other hand if their rights were violated, I can see this happen after the fact but usually not before.
