Big article on Calumet Township follies

Bill Dolan at the Times kicks it up a notch in an article on how much Calumet Township spends.

Calumet Township spends an incredible $100 per person.  North Township is a spendthrift in comparison, spending a mere $41 per person.

Calumet Township is the poster child for why townships need to cease to exist.  As a first step, I propose that any township that had all of its area incorporated cease to exist.  That would cause North Township to dissolve.  Perhaps Griffith could annex the rest of unincorporated Calumet Township and get them to dissolve.

The quotes from Mary Elgin are priceless.  This woman has a Jesus complex like few others.

There were also articles on how Calumet Township does not give out electronic records, making it much more difficult for the Times to do this story, as well as an article on how many township officials have gone to jail.

Nice job, Bill.
