The article has 146 comments as of this morning, most going against the Senator, the vast majority passionately so.
I think he stepped in it this time. Not only is this a ready made issue to demagogue him, it is the kind of issue that can motivate working class whites against him, which is what is needed to win Highland and Griffith.

Well, whoever runs against Frank needs to start now, at fund raising. With the super majority, the state party could care less about District 1 State Senate, a real iffy district.
I agree, although I don't think that this is an "iffy" district in an off-year election. Essentially, this is an amalgamation of House District 12 and 15. In an Obama election, Fine narrowly lost and Slager narrowly won. This is nominally a Republican district.
Mrvan won this district by 55-45 to a name on the ballot in 2010.
Buzz, sounds like you are nominating yourself.
Nope.
