Today, Doug Ross' panties are in a bunch because the big, mean Feds are UNFAIR to Lake County Democrats. He thinks that Tony Bennett should get the Van Til treatment.
Now, the whole L'affair de Bennett has been a total fabrication of the Hammond Times and its paid Lake County Democrat spokesmen like Dan Carden, Doug Ross and Rich James. The line of reporting they went with, that Bennett, "changed a grade" at a charter school, has been shown to be totally bogus.
Now, they are dragging up that Bennett had Voter Vault on a state computer. That's a stretch to say that doing so is equivalent to what Van Til did, which was to use a county employee to EXCLUSIVELY work on his campaign, and to cover it up when the Feds started looking into it.
As far as we know, Bennett is working with authorities investigating this kerfuffle, and I have it on good authority that this will come to nothing.
But that doesn't matter, the paid Lake County Democrat spokesmen at the Times still haven't corrected their previous misreporting of L'affair de Bennett. All that matters is that they put forth the notion that "downstate Republicans" are as corrupt as Lake County Democrats, which of course is as far from the truth as you can get.
