This is the most hypersensitive, silly editorial I have ever read from Doug Ross.
Point of fact, Indianapolis is just as much a "crossroads" as NWI is. So what's this guy's point?
Oh, it all comes down to not being "respected" by downstaters, allegedly Republicans to a one.
Of course, as we know from Democrat Hammond Mayor Tom "Mayor McCheeze" McDermott's ill fated run for Senator/ Governor/ Any Office not in Hammond or Lake County, downstate Democrats don't like Democrats from Lake County either.
Get over it, Dougie. Indianapolis doesn't care about NWI, they have bigger fish to fry down there. I think that the only real competition to Indy is Houston, a similar city in that there are few, if any, geographical limits to its growth.
If Indiana had Texas' taxes and regulations, Indy would be growing as fast as Houston. That's the agenda that Indiana Republicans need to take up.
