Although a news release from the city touts the addition of two new K-9 officers for the police department, one of the dogs already must be replaced.
Ranger, originally assigned to a corporal working day patrol, will be “swapped out” for another dog, city spokeswoman Chelsea Whittington said Tuesday.
That dog and Argo, who is working with Patrolman Justin Hedrick on midnight patrol, were purchased through a grant, Whittington said.
Both dogs and their handlers received training together this summer, but before the city announced their presence, Ranger attacked a young child. That dog was probably racist. They are German Sheppards, after all.
I give props to the Post-Trib, the fucking Times just reprinted Gary's press release!
